I saw them on Saturday in Orlando, and it was fucking rad.

Where did they play? Orlando has some cool venues. When I saw them in Ybor, it was at the new Orpheum, which was interesting. Old Orpheum > New Orpheum, at least as a venue. But yeah it was awesome, except the crowd was kind of lame for most of the show.

Backbooth. Which is also my favorite venue now when it's not overrun by hipsters. Not to mention the booty club next door has some wicked bass that you can hear when all the bands are playing. Seriously though, it is the best; The Social is the hipster place now. Will's Pub is great too.

When Chicken got in the crowd for the last song, he slammed his microphone stand down so people could sing with him and pointed at me like "YOU!!!" as if I was being summoned. In a good way. It made me feel special and I told all of my friends.

Also, who am I talking to in relation to the am! forum? I mean, I have a pretty good idea and all, but I am no headhunter.

I still have to wait a few weeks, Jealous of you back east people, you all got to see them with the Riot Before

Knate, I've been to the Social to see the Hold Steady last May and I liked it there, but I've heard really good things about Backbooth. The Against Me! show there right before the first HOH is legendary. Chicken did the same thing with By The Throat at the Ybor show, and he shouted at everyone "You're in my band! And you're in my band! And you're in my band!" It was awesome, but very Oprah (And you get a car! And you get a car! [ladies screaming]). It was the most fun part of the night.

I don't think they closed with By The Throat and I'm also pretty sure they didn't do the "and you're in my band!" thing. Although I wish they did, because I would have loved to be in there band. I was very drunk and feeling very generous, and I know I made an impression on the guitar players and did other things that probably got their attention. ie: Gave them cigarettes, gave them beer, gave them directions & suggestions, etc. Plus it seemed like my friend and I were the only people that were really 100% down for them.

There were a few kids going nuts. Me, one other girl by herself, and 2 dudes who couldn't have been more than 18 who were fist pumping with their eyes closed half the time. It was awesome. I think that next time they come back there will be more people into them. Plus, I think the new venue had something to do with it. The new Orpheum is bigger and the space made everything feel slightly impersonal.

I saw them in Ybor as well. The new Orpheum kind of sucks but it was a good show.
